I worked for over 2 years at SeeTickets.com. I redesigned the mobile, website and client console and added various features over the years.
Recently I decided to give the design a refresh, it’s been fun revisiting this 10 years later and seeing my approach to the UI design now.

The discovery part of this project involved meetings with stakeholders to understand the aims of redesign, a competitor analysis to see strategies used and identify opportunities for improvement. Once the business objectives and strategies were understood it was time to empathise with our user-base.
When first starting to work on the See Tickets redesign, I thought of some common user scenarios to understand and relate to users and find the emotions behind the decisions. This helped identify some pain points and opportunities for new features.
With common user scenarios in mind it was easier to defined the most important pages of the website, and what areas of interaction/interface should be changed to better cater to the users. In addition to that I created a sitemap and wireflows to map out the scope of all pages that needed redesign.
The redesign also defined new features such as event finder as the central browsing experience. It was designed to help users find events without needing a search query. Recommended events would be based on user location, their favourite artists and attendance of their friends.
The tour page was modified to display the most relevant information to the users depending on the tour. As the example above shows, a band or comedian on tour would display location as the most relevant information. In the case of a theatre show, it would display the show times for each date.
I went for a clean design letting the artist pop, retaining the idea of using icons/colours to represent the main categories browsed by users.
